well!
I started up grading the day lighters on my light bar that came with it, so here are a few pic's.

the reflectors had bad chrome. first painted them sliver or as the can said chrome.

the bodies were painted hammered black. then when the paint was dry I clear coated them. this picture was taken right after clearing.

the interior was rusted too. so I painted the inside black.

I don't know if the reflectors are going to turn out the way I want. I may have to repaint them after all. i haven't looked at them yet today.

Somebody done stole your emblem on the grill. Mine was missing and I bought the stickers at autozone and put one on.

well! I just upgraded the lights again for wiring.

seems that it is much easier to plug them in when you need them so....

receptacle installed.

wiring installed.

light installed.

lights back on the truck.

now! I have to build the light box that will be powered by the cigerate lighter and have switches and circuit breaker to control when the lights are on or off. the box will have plugs for the lights when you need to use it.

and I will be able to upgrade the box to add more lights in the future!

I suggest NOT using a cigarette plug, the wiring is not up for the lights, you'll burn it up eventually.

the lights that I have are not true day lighters. although I do have a set. the ones I have are knock offs and run a removeable bulb that is rated at I believe 55 watts. whihc will not draw that much current.

I'm planning on putting a 10amp circuit breaker in my power box for the infeed. so I should be more than able to handle these low output lights.

I do have a set of true daylighters in the garage that are sealed beam lights. now those I think I will have to come up with another plan if I put them on my truck.

just run it from the battery to a relay to a 15 amp in-line fuse to a toggle switch in the dash......lol

yea jeff.
I did that for my lights on the light wing that I have on the front of my truck. but the explorers do not have alot of dash space to be stuffing switches into. and I want no wiring on the roof if I can prevent it.

thanks jason! the control box is almost done. it just got too cold to work in the garage at about 3 degrees out side makes the garage around 40 degrees. pic's to come of the box soon as I get it done.
