You cant go wrong with an american racing atx series wheel, or kmc, or even a robby gordon bead lock

i wouldn't take 20s offroading though, not in a 37. If you're going to thrash it, do a 17, that way you can also get any generic tire for it in case of a flat.

yeah Im afraid of this theory someone told me about how tires flex, rims dont..

its gonna depend on if Im gonna be able to get sponsered or not, and what size rims they would prefer me getting.. if they dont have a preference.. Id get 17s or 18s.. Ive already talked to seperate people at BFG and now I left a message for the lady in charge of sponserships and I guess I'll call her once a week till I get a hold of her.. I dont wanna bother her, ya know?

Yeah, good luck with it.

I'd definately stick with a tire that has more sidewall.

Arti, it's no theory, even though if you hit them hard enough, rims DO FLEX. They just don't return to their normal shape very well. I'm in agreement with Jason on the 17's, even 18's. Besides that my personal opinion of big rims and low pro sidewalls is that it looks like shit...but I won't be driving them, you will, so it's up to you.

As for the rims flexing....that's why I have the cheap black steel rims on my F150. The factory cast aluminum rims looked nice but didn't hold up to the abuse. They were the first set of rims I ever had to take to the welding shop to fix cracks so I could keep air in the tires. I'm not a big fan of tubing truck tires like I do with the low-speed ones on the farm.

So for your purpose, stick with the 17.

I have 35x13x20 nitto dune grapplers and they hold up well in the dirt. I took them out to plaster city and chased the mcmillin trophy truck along side the road and the traction was much better than my mudds.

I realized after I had parked a certain way at autozone that I would be able to fit those tires without a body lift... so Im prolly gonna run a body lift, keep my rims, and just get some 38 inch superswampers..

If you want something that anyone other than myself could afford that would still stand some abuse, go grab a set of Rock Crawlers. Black is starting to become a trend, it seems, but for a little more, they come in chrome, too. A set of them in black 17 inch shouldn't run you much over $400. I paid $606 for my "Unique Wheel" steels and a new set of 285R16's when I first got mine. Rims were new/unused and I'm second owner courtesy of a swap meet and some moron buying 5x135mm for an Explorer, though.
