when i unlock and open driver's door, my interior lights don't come on and my cargo light doesn't either, open passenger door and everything works. i just bought the truck but need to work out some kinks.

It sounds like that button that pops in and out every time you open your door is stuck. When it is out and the door is open you get your light on and when you shut the door the button goes back in and the light goes off.
But if your luck is anything like mine it can't be that simple. I hope it is though.
I think you'll need to spray some WD40 in the interior area of the door latch inside the door. The sensor in there tends to gum up and not turn on the lights.
thanks, i'll try the wd 40 , well i also need to pull my in side door panel or just shot it though the hinge? thanks again, i just bought the truck so i really don't know much about it
