all kidding aside I like bouncing ideas off other people who plan to do stuff to thier trucks. give different prespectives on what can be done.
like crip's idea of the housing change. never heard of it but I want to look into it as well. ya never know who might need info like that for another way to build up.



Tex! what type tranny do you have?? look at explorerforum dot com and look under trannys tranfer cases. alot of good info that just might make it easy to fix your tranny.

My tranny is a 4r70w. I have been told they are one of the worst to rebuild. I'm just buying a rebuilt one and I am not attempting a rebuild until I have time and money. I never tried rebuilding any transmission before and I'm not starting with this one.

I use to know a guy who could rebuild a power glide in about twenty minutes. every one would take them to him and he would go to his shed and fix them up and bring em out to the front of the house and get paid. it was like a drive in service center!

^^^My uncle was like that... thats all he did most of his life was transmissions. He rebuilt the tranny in my bros 64 grand prix and he was pretty much totally blind lol
