I just finished my install article... check it out!

www.truckblog.com/story-1515-howt...nstall_a_bedrug_on_a_ford_f150_supercrew

While I was writing the article last night I was wondering, does BedRug have any competition? I've never seen a one-off which is very unusual for the aftermarket industry. Has anyone seen one?

ok...so this isn't an item that gets removed very often then......

You couldn't pull the rug out to haul a load of gravel....then throw it back in....because the velcro strips would be trashed. Right?

I've always wanted a rug in my bed (I always had a home made one in previous trucks)....but I really use my truck quite often. I haul firewood, my snow-machine, and other things that would ruin/trash a bed rug. I was hoping this would be removeable. I guess I'll go back to my standard sheet of plywood cut to shape...then covered with carpet.

Hey! So what was wrong with the article I wrote? Truck the wrong color? (nope - not that) Put it in wrong? (nope - not that) Misspelled words? (nope - not that)

Oh - wait. I know! Because it got copyrighted by 'some other place'!

AKSuperDually - I've used my Bedrug to haul all sorts of stuff. Things that required a shovel to remove. You can hose it out or sweep it out and it comes out looking like new!

Next truck - this is the first mod!

AK, if you check out the last page there's a para on how to deal with that, but basically (like Tom said), it's possible to remove the BedRug and put it back in since it just uses hook fasteners (velco strips). I recommend covering the fasteners that are left on your bed with something such as packaging tape or masking tape so they aren't too damaged by your rocks, firewood, etc.

If you do use a shovel, just be careful about scraping the bottom of the bed where the two long fasteners live. Other than that, it's easy to remove and put back in.

Wait - I never removed mine! I just loaded 'er up and, when needed, used a shovel to remove the stuff. Just be careful not to cut into the bedrug with a sharp edge.

Where to buy? Google it man! Go look at: www.google.com/products?oe=utf-8&q=bedrug+super+duty+ford&scoring=pd

ooooooh, if you really want to piss me off......put this in your product page.... "We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada or any other country outside of the USA"

Since when is Alaska outside the US? Also....we are on the same continent as the lower 48 states....if you say continental US....that includes Alaska !

That was the first bed rug place I clicked on.......

moving on.....

Quick question......would the velcro strips stick to a bedliner? I've got a bullet bedliner sprayed in there.....and I'm not going to grind it down to install a rug...... Thoughts?

What is different about the '00 year F350's that no one seems to carry bed rugs for them?????

shouldn't any F250/350 99-05 with a long box be the same?

So, Chris. Did you re-install the tie down cleats or just leave them out?

Why would you pull it out to haul a load of gravel? One purpose of the BedRug is to protect the bed from dents and from scratching the paint. I had one in my '94 F-350 and hauled 1-1/2 yards of 3/4" stones with it. After shoveling out the stones, I just washed off the rug with a garden hose. When it dried, I vacuumed the rug to get rid of any dust, etc. (The Wife was a little pissed that I used her Dyson).

In my experience the BedRug is at least as tough as a plastic drop in liner. With the padding, I would even say it provides more protection to the bed.

If you do want to take it out to haul something though, just get some wide Velcro and put the loop side down over the exposed strips on the floor of the bed to protect them. You can take the floor piece off and leave the sides installed, since they are zippered together.

So I guess the only question left is....can it be installed over a spray in bedliner? And....how well does it insulate the back of the truck? My canopy is insulated and carpet lined....so to insulate the truck a little....would be nice for keeping warm.

I don't see why it could not be installed on a spray in liner. The velcro that is provided with the BedRug uses 3-M style automotive adhesive. If you can get a piece of 3-M automotive tape, see how well it sticks to your liner.

As far as insulation, the rug is bonded to a closed cell polymer foam backing. It's gotta be warmer than plain old steel, or even plastic coated steel.

You should go to the website ( www.wiseindustries.com ) and request a sample of the BedRug.

Now I just have to find the right one, in the right color, from a dealer who won't rape me on shipping......oh, yeah...and pay for it too.

Thanks guys.

They don't specifically make it for the F350......

Model      Year      Part #
F-150 Short Bed (6'5")      04+
F-150 Super Crew (5'5") 04+
F-150 Flare Side (6'6") 04+
F-150 Long Bed (8'0")      04+
F-250 Super Duty Short Bed (6'6")      99+
F-250 Super Duty Long Bed (8'0")      99+
Explorer Sport Trac                     01+
Ranger Short Bed (6'0")              93+
Ranger Flare Side (Splash) (6'0")      95+
